Hi Stampers. Since it’s mid July, today’s card is a “Christmas in July” card. LOL One of the stamp sets that carried over from last years holiday catalog to the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog is the Still Scenes stamp set and the Snow Globe dies.
My snow globe card has a Night of Navy card base. (I chose to use retired DSP because I didn’t have any from the new August to December Mini Catalog yet.) Using Night of Navy ink I stamped the top of the snow globe stamp onto a scrap of Whisper White CS. Next, using the snow globe scenes dies, I die cut out the trees in Garden Green CS and the deer in Soft Suede CS and assembled the background over the stamped image. I used the top of the snow globe die from the Snow Globe Scenes Dies to cut top of the snow globe out of the DSP and the base out of Night of Navy and Whisper White CS (with adhesive sheets on the back).
Before adhering anything to the card base, there were a few extra steps. First the shaker dome – I peeled off the adhesive cover on the dome side of the shaker and inserted it into the hole cut into the DSP with the dies.- from the back. Next, I peeled off the covering and exposed the adhesive on the other side of the dome and carefully placed it over the stamped and die cut scene. Then it was ready to glue to the card front and adhere the base to the card front, just under the dome.
Inside the card is a Whisper White layer that has the sentiment and a few snowflakes in the corners using Night of Navy ink. Have you starting thinking about your Christmas cards for this year? I can help you design and get started soon so you don’t feel rushed. Handmade cards are always best!
