Hi Stampers.  Welcome back for another Stampin’ Friends blog hop!  Today’s hop was an “anything goes” theme.  I chose to use the Beautiful World Suite to create a masculine card.

The card base is made using the new in-color – Cinnamon Cider.  I used the feather from the Beautiful World stamp set and Cinnamon Cider ink to create the background.  Over that I layered a rectangle of Basic Black CS and a slightly smaller (by 1/4″) layer of the Beautiful World Designer Series Paper.  This was nested up into the upper left corner.

The focal point for my card is a Misty Moonlight rectangle followed by a Very Vanilla rectangle (1/4″ smaller).  I used the World Map Dies to die cut the globe out of Balmy Blue, Just Jade and Cinnamon Cider (you could also use Gold to match the DSP).

Stampin’ Tip: I used adhesive sheets on the cardstock before die cutting them so they would be an easy peel and stick.  Using glue on the Just Jade piece could have gotten messy, and I don’t like messy. LOL

Inside the card is a layer of Very Vanilla CS, I stamped the ink well in Tuxedo Black, the feather in Cinnamon Cider and the sentiment in Misty Moonlight.  What do you use to make masculine cards?

Stampin' Up! Beautiful World of Good masculine desk calendar by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

For my project, I made a small desk calendar from a piece of Cinnamon Cider 11″ x 4-1/4″, scored at 5-1/2″.  In the opening, I have another piece of CS 4″ x 4-3/4″ – scored at 1/2″, 2-1/2″, 4-1/2″.  The two 1/2″ sides attach to what would be the inside of the card base and the middle score gets folded up into the card.  This keeps it from falling flat when open.  (Note: The calendars were purchased at Taylored Expressions).
