Hi Stampers, have you wanted to make a card a little extra special without adding a lot more work? I might have just the fold for you! Today’s wedding card is elegant, yet simple to make.

This beautiful wedding card starts off with a 5-1/2″ x 11″ of Gray Granite card base, scored at 4-1/4″ and 8-5/8″. The large magnolia flower from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set was stamped randomly all over using Gray Granite ink. A corner rounder was used to round the two corners on the 2-3/8″ flap.

The wedding card is held together with a “belly band”, this is simply a strip of Petal Pink CS followed by a slightly narrower strip of Peony Garden DSP that wraps around the card to hold it closed.

Stampin’ Tip: Note, the second score line on the card base is 1/8″ extra (instead of 8-1/2″) to give clearance room to close the card. Likewise, the belly band is 1/8″ large and loosely closed so it can easily slip on and off.

A belly band is simple piece, but can easily be stepped up by stamping the large magnolia from the Good Morning Magnolia colored with the Stampin’ Blends and then die cut using the Magnolia Memory Dies.

Inside the wedding card I have double layered for added depth. It starts with a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Petal Pink CS followed by a 3-3/4″ x 5″ layer of Whisper White. The stamping is done on the Whisper White layer in Gray Granite and Petal Pink ink.

This simple belly band holds the wedding card closed and the large magnolia (with the added sparkle of Wink of Stella) added to the top gives it a very elegant look.

What a beautiful wedding card to give to newlyweds. Change up the colors and the stamp sets and you have an entirely new look! Think of all the possibilities! What kind of card would you make with this fold?
