Hi Stampers. I’m excited to share with you the Butterfly Brilliance Collection today!  The Butterfly Brilliance bundle will be in the upcoming 2021-2022 Annual Catalog coming out in May.  But, the bundle along with some coordinating products will be released next week!

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance Collection on bricks and mortar by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations set

We made the following two cards at my Creative Royalty Team meeting last weekend.  I mailed the supplies to each of my team members and we assembled the card together during a zoom meeting.

For both card, I used a Magenta Madness card base, followed by a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Basic White CS that was dry embossed using the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder.

The front of this card has three butterflies that were die cut using the Brilliant Wings Dies and the Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ DSP, adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

In the center of each butterfly, I added a line of Basic Pearl Jewels to act and the “body” of the butterfly and add some dimension.

Inside this card is a simple Basic White layer with a 3/4″ strip of the same DSP on the left side of that layer.

The second card is stepped up a bit.  I added the detail (in vellum) over each of the butterflies and added a sentiment.

Using more of the dies from the Brilliant Wings Dies, I die cut not only the base butterfly, but the butterfly detail to add over the top.  I also punched out a Basic White (using the 2″ circle punch) and a Magenta Madness circle (using the 2-1/4″ circle punch). These circles were too large to add to the card front, so I stamped the sentiment on the right side of the Basic White circle and then adhered the two together.

Stampin’ Tip:  The circles were added to the top layer of the card (the Basic White dry embossed layer) before it was adhered to the card base. After adhering it, I trimmed off the excess from the back side and then adhered it to the card base.

Inside the card is stepped up just a touch, too.  The inside layer has the Basic White with a 3/4″ strip of Magenta Madness and a 1/2″ strip of Butterfly Bijou DSP over the top of that, on the right side.

So, there you have it a simple version for the casual crafter and a stepped up version for the more avid crafter.  Which kind of crafter are you?
