Hi Stampers. Are you ready for spring flowers?  I am!  Today I’m playing with the Hydrangea Haven bundle to make two cards to share with you. When I saw this new Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper I thought it was too pretty to cut up, so used large pieces as a backdrop.

For today’s post I made two cards using the Hydrangea Haven bundle.  For one card – I stamped and colored the flowers with Stampin’ Blends, for the second card – I used the coordinating stamps to add the color and then used the Hydrangea Dies to add dimension to the top.

This card starts with a Purple Posy card base followed by a layer of the Hydrangea Hill DSP.  The Hydrangea flower was stamped onto Basic White CS in Smoky Slate ink and colored using the Stampin’ blends.  After it was colored, I die cut it out using the Hydrangea Dies.

For the sentiment, I used the Level 1 FREE Sale-A-Bration set – Heal Your Heart and stamped in Basic Gray ink onto a 3/4″ strip of Basic White over a 1″ strip of Purple Posy CS.

For my second card I also used Purple Posy card base followed by a layer of Hydrangea Hill DSP.  The flower, from the Hydrangea Haven stamp set, is again stamped in Smoky Slate onto Basic White CS and die cut using the Hydrangea Dies.

The difference this time is the coloring.  The colors (Highland Heather & Old Olive) were added to the flower, stem & leaves using the coordinating stamps from the Hydrangea Haven stamp set.

Next, I used a die from the Hydrangea Dies and Purple Posy CS. I lifted several of the flower petals giving this card a more 3D look.

Inside the card is a layer of Basic White with flowers stamped in the upper left and lower right corner using Purple Posy ink (which was discontinued – but you can use Highland Heather ink).  The sentiment, also from the Heal Your Heart Sale-A-Bration stamp set.
