Hi Stampers.  I was asked recently to make sympathy cards. As I looked over my sets, this flower from the Painted Poppies stamp set drew my attention.  The sentiments are from the Prized Peony stamp set.

These cards started with a Basic White card base, followed by a layer of Basic White CS and then another layer of Basic White that was cut out using the Stitched Rectangle dies.

This sympathy card is just slightly different that the four ahead. While it is still all Basic White, the card base on this card is dry embossed using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder – the others were dry embossed using the Tasteful Textiles 3D embossing folder. Instead of using the Stitched Rectanges Dies, this card uses the Stitched So Sweetly Dies, to make that top rectangle have a scalloped edge.

The flowers, from the Painted Poppies stamp set and the sentiment from the Prized Peony stamp set are stamped in Memento Black ink and colored using the Stampin’ Blends. After the coloring, I felt it needed a little something more, so I stamped the paint splatter from the Painted Poppies stamp set in Smoky Slate ink.

Inside the sympathy card, the coordinating sentiment from the Prized Peony stamp set is stamped in Memento Black ink. The coordinating flowers from the Painted Poppies stamp set was stamped in the lower corner in Smoky Slate ink.

I hope people do not NEED more than one sympathy card, but it’s something good to have on hand, just in case.
