Hi Stampers. I was talking recently with someone about how stamping techniques come and go and come around again. One of those techniques is the packing tape technique.

Side Note: By request, I’ve added a new page to my blog of PDF Tutorials For Sale as instant downloads.

For this packing tape technique card, I started with a thick Basic White card base, followed by a layer of Forever & Always Specialty DSP. The DSP layer was glued down with liquid glue, all over – not just on the edges. Next, I used the Stitched Be Mine dies to die cut the large heart out of both layers. (This is why the glue was all over, so the edges of the heart would not separate from the card base.)

Next, I used wide packing tape and adhered it on the inside of the card with the sticky part showing out the front of the card. (This is why it’s called the “packing tape technique”.  I stamped the lips, from the Hearts & Kisses stamp set, in Rococo Rose ink onto Rococo Rose CS. Using the Kiss Punch I punched out the 2 sets of lips and 3 hearts.

The hearts and one set of the lips were placed onto the (sticky) packing tape and glitter was poured all over that.  I tapped off excess glitter and added the second set of lips over the first ones with a stampin’ dimensional. The final touch, for the outside, was to add the sentiment and a few frosted epoxy dots.

Inside the card, I stamped the lips in the upper left and lipstick in the lower right corner in Rococo Rose ink.  I left the middle blank so that it would not distract on the front of the card. How would you use the packing tape technique?  Below is a video tutorial to show you more of how this card was made.
