Hi Stampers. Happy St. Patrick’s Day week! Do you have your corn beef and cabbage and your green beer ready? What about cards? What!?! No, St. Patrick’s Day stamps? No problem!
Here are two ideas I came up with that can be made for St. Patrick’s Day with no stamps.
I started with a Thick Basic White card base, followed by a layer of Soft Sea Foam CS that was dry embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. Using the Forever Greenery DSP, I cut a 3/4″ x 5″ and a 1″ x 5-1/4″ strip and flagged one end of each using the Triple Banner Punch. Those were then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Seal.
The Stitched So Sweetly Dies were used to die cut a scalloped rectangle out of Basic White CS. My punch art leprechaun was assembled over that. I created the leprechaun using the Sunflower Dies (see diagram below) and then used the Pine Tree Punch for his hat. A simple strip of Basic Black CS (with a square of gold foil) was added across the bottom of the “hat” and I trimmed off the excess from the back side, so that the belt matched the “hat”.
It turned out that my stamp set – A Wish For Everything did have sentiments for my card. The A Wish For Everything stamp set has lots of useful sentiments for various holiday. There are sentiments for the outside and the inside of the card, plus there is a set of coordinating dies! Super useful!
Here is a simple diagram of how the leprechaun was assembled. What kind of punch art have you made?
