Hi Stampers. Happy Spring!  To officially kick off Spring, I’m using bright, cheery colors and the In Bloom Bundle to create today’s card.

When I first saw these Pierced Blooms Dies, I knew they were going to make some beautiful cards! I just love all that stitching on the petals and leaves.

This card starts with a Daffodil Delight card base, 11″ x 4-1/4″, scored at 5-1/2″.  The next layer is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Basic White CS that has been dry embossed using the Painted Textures 3D Embossing Folder.

Stampin’ Tip: Before dry embossing it, I used one of the Layering Squares Dies to die cut a square in this layer.  Doing the dry embossing afterwards, ensures that it keeps the dimension created by the folder.

Next, I placed the Basic White layer on the card and marked with a pencil where the opening was.  This allowed me to removed the embossed layer and die cut the second square out of the card base. The Basic White layer was adhered to the card base after this hole was cut out. I then die cut the flowers & leaves using Garden Green, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade and Pumpkin Pie card stock using the Pierced Blooms Dies. They were adhered to the card front, around the open squares, using liquid glue and stampin’ dimensionals.

Before adhering the inside layer, I placed it inside and stamped the inside sentiment from the outside, so the placement was correct. You can see here how the flowers overlap the opening in the card front and reveal the sentiment (from the In Bloom stamp set) stamped inside the card in Rich Razzleberry ink.

Also before adhering it to the inside, I stamped the flowers (also from the In Bloom stamp set) in the lower left and upper right corner, allowing them to hang off of the edge when stamped. This layer was then adhered inside the card using Stampin’ Seal. It was so fun to work with such bright and cheery colors!  Are you ready for spring?
