Hi Stampers. As you know, I don’t like messy! When my first jar of Gilded Gold Leafing came, the jar was broken!  What a mess! It made me hesitant to try it. I saw a fellow demo use it on tear and tape and thought it was genius! Today I’m showing you how easy it is.

I started with a 3-3/4″ x 5″ layer of Basic White CS, then I added a piece of Fine Art Floral DSP diagonally and trimmed off excess (from the back).

As I was building my card, I thought the top half needed a little something, so I pulled out my two way glue pen and made dots all over the top before I added the Gilded Gold Leafing. You can see how it stuck to the dots on the card front on the left (in the photo above).

After peeling off the tear and tape cover (to expose the sticky) I put ALOT of the Gilded Gold Leafing over it. You can’t really add too much because the excess just goes right back in the jar.

Stampin’ Tip: Some people suggest storing the Gilded Gold Leafing in a plastic storage box (shoe box size) so that it has plenty of room to fly all over like it does. It’s almost weightless, so don’t sneeze (or do a deep sigh…) your breath will blow it around.  Ask me how I know….

Use a sponge, paint brush or blender brush to rub off the excess Gilded Gold Leafing, put as much as you can back in the container. To clean up the tiny fine pieces, use a sticky link roller.

Here is my finished card, I mounted it onto a Merry Merlot card base (one of the colors in the Fine Art Floral DSP I used). I used the To A Wild Rose stamp set and Merry Merlot ink to stamp the flower onto Basic White CS. Using Merry Merlot ink “hello” sentiment was stamped onto another piece of Basic White CS.

The flower was cut out with the Wild Rose Dies and the sentiment was cut out with the Smooth Sailing Dies. The rose was adhered with Stampin’ Seal and the sentiment was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Inside the card is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Basic White CS and stamped the sentiment in Merry Merlot ink. This technique really is pretty easy.  I hope you give it a try!
