Hi Stampers. Did you catch that FB Live where I opened up my January-June Mini Catalog Pre-Order and the jar on my Gilded Leafing had broke and the stuff was EVERYWHERE!!?!  It took me a while before I was brave enough to try it again. This girl does NOT like messy! LOL  But, I think I have a great way to use this stuff – tear and tape!

Stampin' Up! Ornate Frames Ornate Thanks Gilded Leafing Thank You card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

To make this card I started with a Flirty Flamingo base. Next, I cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Ornate Garden DSP and put tear and tape across the top and bottom and the two sides (as shown in photo). Rather than tearing it off, cut it off flush with the edge of the DSP using Paper Snips. This gives the edge a much cleaner look. I peeled off the backing and applied the Gilded Leafing to the sticky tape and rubbed the excess off with a stamping sponge. Using Stampin’ Seal, I then adhered it to the card front.

Stampin’ Tip: If you want to keep the mess to a minimum while using the Gilded Leafing, store it in a plastic box instead of the jar it came in.  You can apply the leafing and rub off excess over the box, the excess will fall back into the box. To clean up any of the Gilded Leafing does get on your table, a sticky lint roller works great for picking us the tiny bits.

Using the Ornate Frames Dies, I die cut a frame to hold the sentiment.  I stamped the word “thanks” from the Ornate Thanks stamp set in Flirty Flamingo ink. The large flower bouquet from the Ornate Style is stamped onto Basic White CS in Flirty Flamingo ink, colored with Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut out with paper snips. Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to adhere the flower bouquet to the card front. The Ornate Frame with sentiment was adhered to the flower bouquet with Stampin’ Seal and a few Pearl Basics finish it off.

Here is the closeup of the gilded leafing. Isn’t the detail on that Ornate Frames detailed? After I die cut it, I used the die brush attachment for my Take Your Pick Tool on it before removing it from the die, that helped remove all the tiny pieces.

Inside the card is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Basic White CS.  I stamped the flower from Ornate Style and the sentiment from Ornate Thanks in Flirty Flamingo ink. Using Stampin’ Blends, I colored the leaf and the center of the flower. Then, I adhered to the inside with Stampin’ Seal.
