Hi Stampers. Yesterday I shared a mini Twisted Gate Fold card with you.  Today, I have a similar (diagonal gate fold) card that is slightly larger. (This card was made as the second card in the video and starts approximately 8 min 25 sec into the video.)

For today’s diagonal gate fold card, I used the same colors and DSP as yesterday’s card. This card started with two, Rococo Rose card bases 4″ x 10-1/4″, scored at 5-1/2″.  Next, I made a small mark with a pencil at 6-1/4″.  I scored a diagonal line from that upper left 6-1/4″ to the lower right corner (at the 10″ end).  The two card bases were then over lapped (placing the 4″ x 5-1/2″ panels on top of each other) and were glued together.

To decorate the two front triangles, I used a 3-7/8″ x 3-7/8″ layer of Night of Navy CS and a 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ layer of Designer Series Paper. These two pieces were cut diagonally and attached to those front triangles using liquid glue.

The two sides fold into the card and the triangles fold outward in opposite directions, so when it’s closed it makes the diagonal gatefold closure.

The inside panel is 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Basic White CS.  Night of Navy ink and the In Bloom stamp set were used to stamp the sentiment in the center.  The two opposing corners have partial flowers (also from the In Bloom stamp set) in Petal Pink, Seaside Spray, Old Olive and Misty Moonlight inks. The stamping was done first (so the flowers could be stamped off the edges) and then it’s adhered with Stampin’ Seal.

For the front focal point, I used the layering ovals (they are retiring… sniff… sniff….) with Night of Navy and Basic White CS. The sentiment and flowers were stamped onto the Basic White oval and it’s adhered to the scalloped Night of Navy oval.  Using Stampin’ Seal the ovals are attached to the triangle on the left.

For some added decoration (and to keep it closed) I added some Whisper White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.

Stampin’ Tip: I wrapped the ribbon around the card and then held it together with a pair of reverse tweezers, so I could use both hands to make the knot and bow.
