Hi Stampers. Do you have Playful Pets?  Are you a dog or cat person?  I’m obviously a dog (poodle) person, my daughter is a cat person. Either way, our pets are family and when they pass it’s heartbreaking. An occasion like that deserves a handmade card and the Playful Pets Suite is the perfect fit.

This card is a Z fold. It starts with a 11″ x 4-1/4″ piece of card stock, scored at 5-1/2″ and 2-3/4″.  The base was folded in half at the 5-1/2″ score line and the 2-3/4″ score on the front.  That 2-3/4″ part is folded from right to left – making a Z fold.

Each panel of the card base has a layer of Basic Black, followed by a layer of the Playful Pets DSP.  I cut an additional layer of Basic Black CS – 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ with a 3″ x 4″ layer of DSP over that. Using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies, I die cut a shape out of Real Red CS and then a hsape out of Basic White CS. (Technically this Basic White shape on this card is a leftover piece cut with the Smooth Sailing Dies, but the Stitched So Sweetly Dies have one that nests perfectly.)

On top of the two shapes is a cat that was cut out using my Brother Scan N Cut (that day I cut a whole sheet of dogs and a whole sheet of cats). See the video of that HERE.

Inside the card is a 1″ Basic White strip that is stamped in Real Red ink.  That strip was then flagged on both ends using the Triple Banner Punch and adhered to the inside, over the DSP.

A small heart (from the DSP) and a couple Holiday Rhinestones complete the card.  Here’s to hoping I never have to use it, but if I do, I hope it bring the recipient some comfort.
