Hi Stampers. Welcome to the Candy Hearts Blog Hop for May! Today I am joining the Candy Hearts Team as we are honoring Linda Krueger, a Candy Heart who passed away recently, by CASEing some of her projects. After reading my post, I hope you will hop to the next person on the list below. Be sure to hop around to see ALL the great projects the Candy Hearts have created for you!
I met Linda though Candy, she is the leader of the Candy Hearts Team. But, I got to know Linda a lot better through a group we put together after the Direct Sales Summit with Brenda Ster. We met on zoom and brainstormed on how to improve our businesses. Linda was great at keeping us all organized and on task. She was also super sweet about remembering what was going on in our lives and always doing something special.
I chose to CASE Linda’s Double Z Fold card. While I kept the fold, I changed up the stamp set, colors and DSP. That’s one of the best parts of Stampin’ Up! we all like to inspire each other. CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything. If you copy someones exact design, it’s recommended to share their name and give them credit. Once you take the idea as inspiration and put your own spin on it, it becomes more of your own. You can see her post here – Linda’s post
The fold is called a Double Z Fold card, because there are two pieces of cardstock that are folded like a Z. The main card base is 11″ x 4-1/4″, scored at 2-3/4″ x 5-1/2″. Inside the card is a second card base 3″ x 9″, scored at 3″ & 6″.
Inside the card base is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of DSP, while the outside DSP is 4″ x 2-1/2″. I love the sentiments from the Hydrangea Haven stamp set – it seemed very fitting as a tribute to Linda. Those sentiments are stamped onto Basic White CS, 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″.
The flower was too big to stamp the whole thing, so I stamped the detailed stamp in Smoky Slate ink – slightly off the square. I used Gorgeous Grape and Old Olive inks to stamp the color over the top.
When the Double Z Fold card opens and closes, the two pieces open and close together in a Z type movement.
Have Linda and I inspired you? What would you make a Double Z Fold card for? Thank you for hopping with the Hearts today! Be sure to hop around to all the stops. You do not want to miss any of the creativity in this talented group of stampers! If you get lost, use the list below.

Such a beautiful card Lisa. Linda sure was an amazing stamper. We will miss her terribly
Beautiful case of Linda’s card! She would have loved it, and would have left a kind and thoughtful comment as she always took the time to do. Lovely hop! She will be missed.
I did not know Linda but the photo of her shows someone with a beautiful smile. To have friends honoring her in this way says a lot about what kind of friend she was.
Beautiful CASE for a beloved friend. This hop is so thoughtful and reminds me how dear my stamp buddies are, no matter how far away they live. Sorry for the loss of your lovely friend
What a gorgeous card, and a wonderful tribute to Linda. Thank you for hopping with us today.
