Hi Stampers.  Have you seen the new Layering Diorama Dies in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog? I’ve been having so much fun thinking outside the box!  Today I have a Layering Diorama Clam – how fun is this!?!?

I started with a Balmy Blue card base – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4. Using the Blender Brushes, I added Balmy Blue, Coastal Cabana and Pool Party ink.  It looked good for water, but it needed something else.

To create a beach across the bottom of the card, I brushed on some Crumb Cake & Cinnamon Cider ink. As a final touch, I added some Snowy Accents (I had some leftover from August to December Mini Catalog). I know it’s supposed to be snow, but on my card, I thought it looked like beach foam. (If you don’t have any of the puff paint, you can use a white chalk marker, it just won’t be 3D.)

The clam itself is made using the Layering Diorama Dies with Basic Gray, Smoky Slate and Very Vanilla CS. On the Very Vanilla layer, I brushed on some Petal Pink ink along the edges.

For the pearl in the middle, I used our Shimmering Crystal Effects and made a puddle of it in the middle. (Note: this takes a long time to dry – I left it over night). For the top part of the clam shell, I used the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder and then curled it a little with the bone folder. It’s attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Inside the Layering Diorama Clam card is a layer of Very Vanilla CS with ink brushed across the bottom. The sentiment, from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set, is stamped in Basic Gray ink.
