Hi Stampers. I have one of my new favorite fun fold cards to show you today – it’s a pop up and flip card! I used this suite in my Facebook Live on my Business Facebook Page on Monday, April 26th. You can view the video on YouTube below.
This pop up and flip card does use the recently retired Stitched Shapes Dies & Layering Ovals Dies. If you have listened to me at all… I hope you have these in your stash. They are awesome! It also features one of our new In-Colors – Pale Papaya.
On those ovals is a die cut pansy made from the Pansy Dies. For the die cut flower, I used Pale Papaya, Basic White, Calypso Coral and a touch of So Saffron CS. The leaves are made using Old Olive CS.
Inside the pop up and flip card is a layer of Basic White CS with the sentiment stamped in Pale Papaya ink. The pansy is stamped in Pale Papaya (for 2 steps) and Calypso Coral inks. Using a post-it note, I stamped the pansy, fussy cut it out and covered the pansy. Then when I stamped the leaves using Old Olive ink, they appear to be coming from underneath. This is called the masking technique.
The pieces were cut individually and the top pieces have Adhesive Sheet on the back making for easy assembly. From this close up, you can see how the die for the larger petals embosses AND cuts at the same time.
This pop up and flip card has a bit of a folding shelf on the inside with an L bracket that holds up the ovals when open and allows them to fold flat when closed.
I made this same pop up and flip card in Fresh Freesia a few weeks ago. You can see that post by CLICKING HERE.
This is a view from the back side with the pop up flip card open, to give you an idea of what it looks like open. Don’t you just love that we have gingham back?!?!
