Hi Stampers. Boy do I have a fun card for you today!  I was asked by a customer to make a Hey Birthday Chick shaker card.

My Hey Birthday Chick shaker card started with a Bermuda Bay card base, 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. I used the Rectangle Stitched Dies to create the next two layers. The Coastal Cabana layer is approx. 5-1/4″ x 4″ layer, followed by a DSP layer that is approx. 5″ x 3-3/4″. Next, I skipped two sized and used a smaller die to cut the center out of those two layers for my window.

The Coastal Cabana layer and the DSP layer (with the window cut out) were adhered together and gently placed over a 5″ x 3-3/4″ layer of Basic White CS and I made light dots in the for corners of the window opening, so I knew where to stamp my inside layer. A layer of acetate was then added to the back of the front layer. I stamped my inside scene and colored with Stampin’ Blends and then erased the pencil marks.

Adhesive Foam trips were adhered around the Basic White CS layer and then I added the bird seed (it was supposed to be chicken feed, but I don’t have chickens and that was way too much to spend for a card – lol). Next, the backing was pulled of the Adhesive Foam Strips and the top layer was added, then the whole thing was added to the card base with Stampin’ Seal (optional foam strips along the outside edge to hide the gap (see both versions in the video below). The final touch was stamping the two chickens for the top layer and coloring them with Stampin’ Blends. These were die cut using the Birthday Chick Dies and adhered to the front with Stampin’ Seal.

Inside the Hey Birthday Chick shaker card is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Basic White CS. I used my markers to ink the confetti and sentiment stamp.  The chick is stamped in Memento Black ink in the lower left corner and colored with the Stampin’ Blends. I die cut the chicken feed bag out of Crumb Cake CS and I adhered that in the bottom right corner.
