Hi Stampers. Once again, I have challenged myself to use a set (Elegantly Said) that was not my style and surprise, I found something I like.

Note: our new mini catalog goes live August 3rd, next week! Now is the time to purchase your product share. (see link below).

I made two cards, basically the same, one with Smoky Slate ink and one with Gray Granite ink.

Both cards use a standard card base, followed by a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Smoky Slate CS. A 1-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ strip of the Simply Elegant DSP is adhered to the right side of the card front and a ribbon is adhered to this layer covering the left edge of the DSP.

The ribbon is attached to the back of the Smokey Slate layer and adhered to the back side of that layer with glue dots. This layer was then adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Seal.

Inside the card is a layer of Basic White CS with the corner swirl (from the Elegantly Said stamp set) stamped in the lower right corner.  This card used Smokey Slate ink.

For my second card, I used all the same design elements and layer but used Gray Granite ink. Using the Elegantly Said stamp set, I stamped the corner swirl in the upper left corner and the sentiment in the lower left corner.

For the focal point, I stamped the flowers from the Elegantly Said stamp set and stamped them on Basic White CS and then punched it out using the Elegant Tag Punch. A second tag was punched out of Silver Foil.  This second tag was cut in half horizontally and adhered to the Basic White tag with the Silver Foil peeking out above and below. I used Simply Elegant Trim to tie a bow around the tag and then adhered it to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Again, there is a layer of Basic White CS with the Elegantly Said corner swirl stamped in the lower right corner.  This time I used Gray Granite ink.  When you place this one close to the Smoky Slate one, you can see how much more “brown” is in this gray.  Which one do you like better?
