Hi Stampers. Welcome to today’s blog hop. The theme for this blog hop is “vacation”. My card is not exclusively “vacation”, but I am actually ON VACATION. I love that my job allows me to travel and still maintain my business.  Before I left, I created several cards and took pictures, then I loaded those pictures and several videos to edit on my laptop and off I go…

Stampin' Up! Ornate Thanks Basic Borders Dies rainbow ric rac thanks card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

From a young age, I was taught to send written thank you notes. I actually had an aunt and uncle that gave my brother and I GREAT gifts, but if we didn’t send a written thank you note we didn’t get a gift the next time.  When things like that happen as a kid – you learn fast!

This card started with a Thick Basic White card base – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″.  Next, I used the Basic Border Dies with Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Pacific Point and Gorgeous Grape CS to make ric rac. This was easy for me to lay across the corner at an angle across the bottom left corner and adhere with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I just laid down a strip that was longer than needed and trimmed off any excess with the paper snips. (If you want it to be a little more neat, you can use the Adhesive Sheet.) Using Gorgeous Grape in and the Ornate Thanks stamp set, I stamped the large “thanks across the top of the front of the card.

Inside the card is a single strip of Pumpkin Pie ric rac (made with the Basic Borders Dies) across the bottom of the card. The sentiment, also from the Ornate Thanks stamp set, is stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink.

Stamping is a regular part of my life and I didn’t want to go 12 full days without stamping. (The horror!)  Thankfully, Stampin’ Up! makes some awesome kits that are great for travel. As subscriber to Paper Pumpkin, I have quite a few kits available to me and I also save my boxes when the kit is finished.  When getting ready to go out of town, I love to pre-cut some pieces and bring them along for assembly or do alot of stamping and bring it along to color.  Do you take you hobby on vacation?
