Hi Stampers. It’s time to Sale-A-Brate!  The 2021 August to December catalog is now LIVE and we have kicked off our first ever round two of Sale-A-Bration for the year!  Today’s project uses items that are in the catalog (Penguin Place bundle) and FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.

Stampin' Up! Penguin Place Diorama Dies handmade card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

My card starts with a Balmy Blue Card base, 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″.  Next I used the Layering Diorama Dies to die cut a large shape out of the Penguin Playmates DSP.  This adorable DSP can be earned for FREE with a $50 purchase (August 3rd to September 30th). Next, I used another (smaller) Layering Diorama Die to die cut a layer of Basic White that I insert this layer into the opening in the DSP and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using Balmy Blue ink and a sentiment from the Penguin Place stamp set I stamped onto Basic White CS and die cut it out with the smallest Layering Diorama Die. I die cut a layer of Balmy Blue CS to use behind the Basic White layer using the next size up on the dies. Stampin’ Seal is used between the top Basic White layer and a Stampin’ Dimensional to adhere it to the DSP.

The penguin is punched out of Basic Black, Basic White (with adhesive sheet) and Pumpkin Pie (with adhesive sheet) CS. I used a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to make the eyes. The scarf and hat are stamped in Fresh Freesia ink onto Basic White CS and fussy cut out with Paper Snips and adhered to the penguin. I placed a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card for a pop of sparkle.

Inside the card is a layer of Basic White CS.  Onto that layer, I stamped the swoosh in Balmy Blue and then the penguin in Memento Black ink and his beak in Pumpkin Pie ink.

Stampin’ Tip: If you want the penguin to be nice and dark black, use the Stamparatus so you can apply several layers of ink in the same exact spot.
