Hi Stampers. Today’s project is a card featuring the Sweet Stockings Suite of products. A “suite” makes things easy. A suite is a group of product collections designed to work together. Each suite includes stamps, tools, paper, and embellishments to help you create the perfect look for your projects in color palettes you’ll love. Select individual products or purchase the full collection—either way, suites make it easy to create for all life’s moments.
My husband and I are empty nesters and the grandkids live out of state, so our lives pretty much revolve around our two dogs. They are spoiled rotten! Yes, they even have their own Christmas stockings. So, this card came together quickly and easily. The supply list is long, but most of it was done out of small scraps of CS. The Smokey Slate CS with the Basic Gray bricks embossed (using embossing paste with Basic Gray ink refill) using a retired mask, quite some time ago. It’s been floating around my desk for a while now and I was happy to put it to use!
This card starts with a Crumb Cake card base 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. Next, I chose to use a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ layer of the Neutrals DSP (Crumb Cake) becasue I those it looked a bit like wallpaper.
The fireplace was created by using that piece of Smoky Slate CS with the embossing paste bricks on it. A strip of Basic Gray CS along the top as a mantel and a square of Basic Black CS to be the fireplace itself.
The stockings were stamped in Memento Black ink onto Garden Green, Real Red and Night of Navy CS. I used all three stocking stamps from the Sweet Little Stockings stamp set and then used the Stocking Dies to die cut them out (all part of the Sweet Stockings Suite). Next, up the puppies were stamped onto Basic White CS with Memento Black ink and colored with the Stampin’ Blends. I attached them and then thought they needed to look like they had a hanger, so I added a Basic Pearl Jewel.
The fire was created by cutting two little scraps of Early Espresso CS and embossing them with the Timber Embossing Folder to make the logs. For the flames, I used the Tulip Builder Punch with Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Vellum scraps of CS.
Inside the card is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Very Vanilla CS. The sentiment is stamped in the center in Misty Moonlight ink. Finally the stockings were stamped across the top of the layer in Memento Black ink and colored with the Stampin’ Blends and adhered to the inside of card base.
