Hi Stampers. Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is Fantastic Fun Folds and 3D Projects. We really hope that you enjoy and will be inspired by them! As you hop from blog to blog, don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
Today I am sharing an angled gatefold card with you. This is a new to me fun fold. It’s easy and looks fancy – my favorite mix!
This angled gatefold card started with a piece of Blackberry Bliss CS – 5-1/2″ x 11″, scored at 3-3/8″ and 7-5/8″.
To decorate the front panels, I cut two pieces of coordinating DSP (from the Blackberry Beauty DSP) 5-1/4″ x 3-1/8″.
My angled gatefold card started out with rectangle panels and then cut the angles to the card base and the DSP layers after. To get those angles, I measured down 1″ on the far left and far right side of the card base and made a mark. Then I cut from that mark to the score at the top of the card. Next, I measured 1″ in from each side and made a mark. Using the paper trimmer, I cut from that mark to the first mark. (The video shows it well).
I repeated the process on the two DSP layers, to cut the angles. The belly band is a 1-1/4″ x 11″ piece of Blackberry Bliss CS and a 1″ x 11″ piece of Blackberry Beauty DSP.
To decorating the belly band, I used the Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper and die cut one layer of each color using the large detailed die from the Merriest Frames Die set. These were followed by a 2-1/4″ x 3″ piece of Blackberry Bliss CS, followed by the Very Vanilla piece (cut from a die in the Merriest Frames Die set) that is approximately 2″ x 2-3/4″.
Inside the angled gatefold card is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Very Vanilla that was stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink, using the Queen Anne’s Lace stamp set. What colors and DSP will you be creating this fold with?
