Hi Stampers. Today’s post is made with Nature’s Beauty and comes with a little bit of trivia. Did you know that there are twelve full moons each year. Each of them is given a name. The first full moon of the year (in January) is called the wolf moon? Teh January 2022 full moon is Monday, January 17th – tonight! (They say that wolves are more active early in the year and howl due to lack of food.) Occasionally, a year will have thirteen moons – the 13th moon is called a blue moon. All of a sudden that saying “once in a blue moon” makes sense!
I was looking to make a simple (almost) monochromatic card and chose to use the Nature’s Beauty stamp set with Night of Navy. (The card base is Basic Gray, but that’s kind of a neutral – right?).
The Night of Navy CS, made me think of a dark sky and the wolf (from the Nature’s Beauty stamp set – YES, I KNOW IT’S A FOX, that didn’t fit my story…) made me think of a full moon.
Stampin’ tip: To create the moon, I cut a circle out of masking paper and put it on the card where I wanted the moon. Using the blending brushes, I applied Night of Navy ink around the upper edges of the circle. Then I removed the masking paper to reveal the moon. (This paper has a post-it note kind of adhesive on the back and comes off easily. See affiliate link below).
Inside the card, I stamped the deer (also from Nature’s Beauty) and the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Special Moments stamp set. The Special Moments stamp set is a level 2 Sale-A-Bration item. It’s an awesome sentiment set with interior and exterior sentiments.
