Hi, Stampers. It’s been a busy week! The new catalog launches in just 4 more days and our first Royal Retreat getaway happens in just two weeks! Busy, busy, busy… Today I have a simple Hello Ladybug card for you.

My card starts with a Real Red card base 7-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. The shorter section goes on the front, a 5-1/8″ x 2-5/8″ layer of Basic Black CS followed by a 5″ x 2-1/2″ layer of Pattern Party DSP.

Next, I cut a 4″ x 2-3/4″ layer of Real Red CS and a 3-7/8″ x 2-5/8″ layer of Basic White CS. I used the Gingham Embossing folder to dry emboss the Basic White layer. Using my bow maker tool, I tied a bow in the red ribbon and then wrapped it around the Basic White layer before adhering it to the Real Red layer and then to my card front.

Using the Ladybug Builder Punch, I punched out two ladybug bodies using Basic Black CS. The wings were stamped in Real Red ink onto scraps of Basic White CS and the dots were added in Memento Black ink. These were also punched out with the Ladybug Builder Punch. The wings were adhered to the body and the body was adhered to the card front. A white gel pen was used to make the shine marks on the head of the ladybugs.

Inside the card is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Basic Black CS, followed by a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ layer of Basic White CS. I hope my card made you smile.
