Hi, Stampers. Today’s card is super simple and uses a fairly new bundle with some limited release Designer Series Paper. This gorgeous Waves of the Ocean DSP has the beautiful look of hand-poured paint. You want to grab some before it’s all gone!

My simple Waves of the Ocean card starts with a Balmy Blue card base – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. For the sentiment, I used Misty Moonlight ink and the Waves of Inspiration stamp set to stamp onto a scrap of Basic White CS. This piece was then die cut using the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Waves Dies. This was adhered to the bottom of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Crumb Cake CS with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  (Note: you can save a little cardstock by using a 4″ x 2-1/2″ piece and just place it towards the bottom.)

A small strip of ribbon was used on each side and attached to the back of the Crumb Cake layer. This Crumb Cake layer was then adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Seal. Next, is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of the Waves of the Ocean DSP. I tore the bottom edge of this paper (about an inch and a half up from the bottom), pulling it towards me to get the white edge on the front.

Inside the Waves of the Ocean card is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Pacific Point CS followed by a 3-3/4″ x 5″ layer of Basic White CS.  I stamped the large wave from the Waves of Inspiration stamp set along the bottom.

The stamp is gorgeous on it’s own, but I took it a step further by inking first in Pool Party ink and then dabbing additional blues onto the stamp using Sponge Daubers before stamping. I added Balmy Blue, Coastal Cabana, Pacific Point and Bermuda Bay around the stamp randomly. I love how it came out!! It’s amazing how adding a little ink in additional colors will add dimension to an image.
