Hi, Stampers. Maybe it was the recent Easter holiday, but I’ve been homesick a lot lately. I grew up in Northern California and this time of year is when the gray whales migrate off the coast. As a kid, I can remember many whale-watching trips out at Bodega Bay with family visiting from out of state. Playing with the Whale Done bundle brought back some happy memories.

My Whale Done card starts with a Bermuda Bay card base, followed by a 3-3/4″ x 5″ Coastal Cabana layer of CS that has been dry embossed using the Seashells embossing folder. The stamping is done on a 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ layer of Basic White CS.

Using the Whale Done stamp set, I stamped the seaweed in Mossy Meadow, the jelly fish in Coastal Cabana, the sea turtle in Bermuda Bay and the coral in Crumb Cake inks. The lighter colors are a second generation stamping, meaning that I stamped a second time without re-inking.

Using the Blending Brushes, I blended Crumb Cake ink on the bottom half and Pool Party ink on the top half. The whale was punched out of Basic Gray and Smoky Slate CS, using the Whale Punch. Some Basic Gray ink was stamped on the top of the whale, to give it more depth.

Inside the card, I stamped a complete scene using the Whale Done stamp set. This time the seaweed was stamped in Old Olive ink and the jelly fish were stamped in Highland Heather ink. More blending was done using the Blending Brushes, only this time, I added Old Olive ink in between the Pool Party and Crumb Cake sections.

In the center, I stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink and added added the school of fish in Pumpkin Pie ink. I’m thrilled with how it came out! What do you think?

Do you want more ocean fun to go with the Whale Done?  How about this fantastic bundle?
