Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

This month, the theme is “CASE the Catalog” so the Design Team chose a card from the new Annual Catalog and has CASEd it with their own creative twist. We really hope that you are inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! As you hop from blog to blog, we would love for you to leave a comment. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Stampin' Up! Waves of Inspiration CASE the catalog card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

I chose to CASE the sample of Waves of Inspiration on page 101 of the Stampin’ Up! 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. I changed up the colors a bit and swapped out the ribbon for something different, but it’s CASEd.  My card starts with a Coastal Cabana card base – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. Next up is a 4″ x 3-3/4″ layer of Bermuda Bay CS and then a 4″ x 3-1/2″ Basic White layer that I stamped onto.

I stamped the wave in Coastal Cabana ink and then sentiment onto a scrap of Basic White CS in Bermuda Bay ink. The sentiment was die cut with a die from the coordinating Waves Dies. Using a piece of Sahara Sand Twill Ribbon, I attached it to the two layers. These layers were then adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Note that it’s not centered. The layers are pushed to the right side. This felt a bit odd to me, but it works!

My cards (almost) always have an inside layer. Inside the card is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Basic White CS. The wave was stamped again in Coastal Cabana ink (although, I did dab a little Bermuda Bay ink in spots to give it some depth). Using the Neutrals Stampin’ Write Markers, I inked the pelican on the wood posts.  The posts were inked in Soft Suede, while the pelican was inked in Smoky Slate using the brush tip end of the markers.  It was then colored with the Stampin’ Blends. (Note: do not use Stampin’ Blends directly on the stamps – use Stampin’ Write markers).

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on July 13th. Our theme will be “Create Your Own Background” when our Design Team creates a background using any technique they wish, such as stencils, stamping, watercolor, embossing but not DSP.

Until then, have fun in your craft space!
