My Dutch Door Card:

Today’s card is a dutch door card. They call it this because of the way it just has the bottom half of the front, like a dutch door.  It started with a Pumpkin Pie card base – 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″. Next, I cut off the top 2-1/8″ of the card front. Using some Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP, I adhered a 2″ x 5-3/8″ layer to that card front. Layering circle dies were used to cut the half circle into the “door” and then used that same circle and one slightly larger to create the Pumpkin Pie CS ring that goes around that opening.

Using the Hello Harvest stamp set, I stamped the large pumpkin onto the Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP and then die cut it out using the coordinating dies from the Hello Harvest bundle.  I used a soft suede stampin’ blends marker to darken the stump and then used Mossy Meadow CS (with adhesive sheet) to make the vines.  This was adhered to the inside of the card, but showcased through the half circle.

The inside sentiment, for my dutch door card, is stamped with Pumpkin Pie ink and a few Brass Butterflies were added for fun. A dutch door card is simple and cute – my favorite combination!
