Hi, Stamper. I don’t know about you but as much as I love autumn, I’m just not quite ready yet. We just started summer! But, the July to December Mini Catalog goes live next Friday. For today’s post, I wanted to show you how to use the new Stampin’ Up! Masking Paper. I used the Hello Harvest stamp set to make an autumn card as expected, but then I used the same set to make a summer / spring card in Pink – it came out great!
How to use Masking Paper Autumn Card:
Here is my first card. The base is done in Soft Sea Foam and then I used the backside of the new Rustic Harvest DSP and colored the leaves (which were white) with my Stampin’ Blends.
Next, I stamped the ribbon banner, from the Hello Harvest stamp set in Memento Black ink. Using the masking paper, I covered up the ribbon banner and stamped the flowers over that and then removed the masking paper. Then I colored the banner and flowers with the Stampin’ Blends. I used the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint (and heated it with the heat tool) to make the cotton.
Inside the card, I stamped the leaf in the lower right and upper left corner in Cajun Craze, Soft Sea Foam & Crumb Cake. The sentiment is stamped it the center in Crumb Cake ink. Did you notice the corners? That’s a new punch in the July to December Mini Catalog.
How to use Masking Paper Spring Card:
For the Blushing Bride version. I used the Blending Brushed to color the black and white side of the Rustic Harvest DSP in Blushing Bride ink.
The ribbon and flowers were stamped in the same way, but just colored with different colors of Stampin’ Blends to give it a more spring / summer feel. I did cheat a use a few retired Stampin’ Blend colors. I still have them and they haven’t dried out, so why not, right?
Inside the card, I used Blushing Bride ink to stamp the little filagree stamp in each corner and the “hello” sentiment in the center. More description and all the measurements are in the video below. So, what do you think? What would you use Masking Paper for?
