Hi, Stamper. Did you catch my LIVE yesterday?  I made this porthole peek a boo card. I’ve recently added Thursdays to my LIVE schedule.  You can now find me on YouTube LIVE (and live from the Realm of Creativity FB group) on Mondays and Thursdays at 2:30pm MT!

Stampin' Up! Waves of Inspiration porthole peek a boo card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

My peek a boo card starts with a Night of Navy card base – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. I also cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of the Layering Designs Vellum and a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Night of Navy CS. These two layers were placed onto the card front and a layering circle was set in the upper middle of the card front and cut through all three layers. Using the Waves dies, I die cut the two large waves out of Basic White CS. I adhered the vellum to the front of the card and the waves and then the Night of Navy layer to the backside of the card front.

Using the layering circles dies, I die cut the same size circle and one about a 1/2″ larger from Soft Suede CS to make the porthole ring. I stamped on it with the wood from the On The Horizon stamp set and adhered it to the card front. Basic Rhinestone Jewels colored with a dark Night of Navy stampin’ blend were added as the rivets. The sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy ink, die cut out and added to the card front with some metallic ribbon behind it using mini stampin’ dimensionals.

Inside the peek a boo card is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Basic White CS. The wave was stamped inside, to align with the porthole peek a boo. Sahara Sand ink was sponged on the bottom and the sentiment stamped over that in Night of Navy ink. A tiny strip of Night of Navy CS was added to the middle of this layer. Full directions can be found in the video below. Have you ever made a peek a boo card?

Stampin’ Tip: To get the various colors in the wave, I inked the entire stamp in Pool Party ink and then dabbed on Coastal Cabana, Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky inks – before stamping onto the cardstock.
