When I first saw the Brewed For You stamp set, I was filled with ideas. As a kid, I grew up in Petaluma which is in the Sonoma Valley, adjacent to Napa Valley. Smack in the middle of wine country, so it seemed only natural that we spent our fall days in the grape fields picking grapes or my Dad’s homemade wine. It quickly became a neighborhood event. We got to stomp grapes with our feet (gross feeling between the toes by the way) and turn the handle on the wine press. My dad would then later enter his homemade wine in the Harvest Festival. He won several awards – it was good stuff!
I can’t help but think of my Dad as I work with the Brewed for You stamp set. As I talked to others about it, they felt it was too limited (just beer) to invest in, so I set out to show how versatile it can be! My first card of the week, is done on Blackberry Bliss card base, followed by a layer of Basic White CS and then a layer of Blackberry Bliss CS. I used various sizes of Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow and Crumb Cake DSP strips and flagged the end.
Stampin’ Tip: I used the Banner Pick a Punch for the two smaller banners, but to flag the larger one, I did that manually. I found the center of the bottom and measured up 1/2″ and made a mark. Using the Paper Snips, I cut from each corner up to the mark.
The bow was made first and then wrapped around the strips of DSP and then the whole set was added to the card front. Using the Painted Labels Dies, I die cut the two labels from Blackberry Bliss and Basic White CS. Memento Black ink was used to stamp the wine glass, while Blackberry Bliss ink was used for the wine.
Stampin’ Tip: I stamped Versamark ink over the top of the Blackberry Bliss ink and added clear embossing powder. This gave my wine a bit of shine.
Inside the Brewed for You card is a layer of Blackberry Bliss DSP followed by a layer of Basic White CS. The corners were punched using the new Very Best Trio punch that will be in the 2022 July to December Mini Catalog. My wine glass was die cut from vellum and the “wine” was die cut from Blackberry Bliss CS using the Brewed Dies & our Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. It was glued to the lower right corner and the sentiment (from the Brewed for You stamp set) was stamped in the upper center using Blackberry Bliss CS. A few Basic Rhinestone Jewels finish it off.
