Welcome back, stamper!  Today’s card is a simple one.  It’s a simple watercolor background behind my lighthouse made with the Lighthouse Point bundle. Did you know that July is World Water Coloring Month? I’ve attached a video below with lots of tips and tricks for water coloring.

My card has a Pool Party background followed by a layer of watercolor paper. I created this watercolor background layer using the new Water Painters to paint my background with Sahara Sand, Pool Party & Balmy Blue inks. Our new Water Painters have three sizes and one of them is a nice wide background that works great on this background technique.

The lighthouse was cut out of Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Basic White & Pool Party CS.  The little railing was cut out of silver foil. The lighthouse was then adhered to the watercolor paper layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I used two of the dies from the Lighthouse Dies set to cut out the labels for my sentiment. The sentiment was then stamped onto the Basic White label with Pool Party ink. Stampin’ Seal was used on the side of the label that touched the lighthouse, while a dimensional was added to the other side.  This made the whole thing sit level.

Inside the card is a Basic White layer. The sentiment was stamped in Pool Party ink and Sahara Sand ink was sponged across the bottom to look like sand.

In the video below, I show how this watercolor background works on Basic White CS, Shimmery White CS and Watercolor Paper. I also compare the old Aqua Painters to the new Water Painters, as well as a few other tips.
