Hello, Stampers! Happy New Year! Let’s start this year off fun with a Gatefold Explosion Card! Am I the only one relieved that the holiday chaos is behind us? The hustle and bustle of the season can feel overwhelming with all the commercialism. January is a breath of fresh air—a time for new beginnings and the perfect opportunity to create Thank You cards for Christmas gifts and get a head start on birthday cards for the year ahead.
When I first saw this floral paper in the Holiday Mini Catalog, I was a bit puzzled. But now that the Christmas season has passed, it makes perfect sense! The deep, rich tones of the Regal Winter Designer Series Paper are ideal for creating post-holiday cards. This DSP was the perfect choice for my Gatefold Explosion Thank You Card.
Our Designer Series Papers are designed to coordinate beautifully, making it easy to mix and match the patterns. For this card, I chose Blackberry Bliss as the main color and used matching Blackberry Bliss ink for the stamping. I wanted to showcase the versatility of the Humble Home stamp set by creating a post-holiday card, proving it works well beyond the holiday season. To complete the design, I paired it with the stunning Spotlight on Nature Dies.
The front of this card looks like a classic gatefold design, complete with a stylish belly band, but the real magic happens when you open it—a fun pop-out surprise awaits! I’ve linked the video tutorial below so you can easily create one yourself.
