Hello, fellow stampers! Welcome to this month’s Stampin’ Up! Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who absolutely love creating Fun Fold Cards. This month, I’m excited to share my Diagonal Gatefold Card, a unique fun fold card design that adds a special touch to any handmade card. You can find this creative fold, along with step-by-step instructions, in Volume 2 of my Fun Fold Tutorial Books—perfect for expanding your card-making skills. Keep reading to see my card and then follow along on the blog hop to see more fun creations!

I created a Diagonal Gatefold card featuring the Friendly Seagulls stamp set, a fun and whimsical set that you can earn for FREE with a $60 purchase during Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-a-Bration—but hurry, this special offer ends in just three days!
For my card base, I used Pebbled Path cardstock, then added layers of the charming Otterly Adorable Designer Series Paper. To enhance the coastal seagull theme, I stamped the French fries image from the Friendly Seagulls stamp set in Pebbled Path ink on both sides of the card front.
The focal point was created with the Stylish Shapes Dies. I die-cut a Pecan Pie cardstock ring using two circle dies, then added texture by dry embossing it with the Timber Embossing Folder. To give it a nautical touch, I wrapped Linen Thread around the ring in four places before adhering it to a Basic White circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals for added depth.

Inside my Diagonal Gatefold Card, I added a layer of Basic White cardstock as the background for my scene. To create a soft, natural look, I used Blending Brushes to blend Balmy Blue ink across the top for a sky effect and Crumb Cake ink along the bottom to resemble sand. The Friendly Seagull stamp set brought my design to life—I stamped the sentiment in the center using Pebbled Path ink, while the sandy texture at the bottom was created with Crumb Cake ink. To complete the coastal vibe, I stamped the seagulls in Smoky Slate ink and colored them with Stampin’ Blends markers, adding depth and dimension to my handmade card.

Here’s a close-up view of the inside of the Diagonal Gatefold Card, showcasing the finishing touches. To help you recreate this nautical handmade card, I’ve included a step-by-step video tutorial below. Cute card, Lisa! Wow, that fold is wonderful. I’m usually a bit timid with angled cards but I think I can handle this one! And the stamp set is so adorable and I think I have to finally order it before Sale-A-Bration is over. Thanks for joining the hop this month.
Great alternative to a standard gate fold!!! Love these seagulls!
