I’m excited to share two beautiful flip flap fun fold card ideas that are perfect for stepping up your handmade cardmaking. These easy fun fold cards look impressively detailed but are simple to create—ideal for both beginners and seasoned stampers.

I created them using two of my favorite Stampin’ Up! products: the Spotlight on Nature Bundle and the gorgeous Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper. Great news—both of these popular items are carrying over into the new Stampin’ Up! catalog, so you can keep creating with them all year long!

My first flip flap fun fold card features a Highland Heather cardstock base, beautifully accented with Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper. I added a creative flip element using a front flap made from Gorgeous Grape cardstock, secured with an L-shaped bracket for interactive movement. The focal image is stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock using the Spotlight on Nature stamp set. I colored directly onto the stamp with Stampin’ Write Markers—Gorgeous Grape for the flowers and Shaded Spruce for the stems and leaves—achieving a vibrant, multi-colored effect. To complete the card front, I stamped a sentiment on a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock, layered it over a coordinating strip of Gorgeous Grape cardstock, and adhered it for a polished finish.

Inside this handmade card, I added an additional layer of Very Vanilla cardstock, stamped with a delicate butterfly image in Gorgeous Grape ink. This stamped layer is mounted onto a coordinating mat of Gorgeous Grape cardstock, creating a beautiful contrast. When the card is closed, this elegant detail is cleverly concealed behind the front flap, offering a delightful surprise when opened.

Flip Flap Fun Fold card number two offers a fresh twist on the original layout, making it just as beautiful but uniquely its own. Like the first, this handmade card starts with a Highland Heather cardstock base layered with the elegant Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper (DSP) from Stampin’ Up! This version features a smaller front flap, perfect for showcasing the floral image from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set. Again, I used Stampin’ Write Markers to add multiple ink colors directly to the stamp, creating a two tone look. By leaving off a sentiment on the front, this Flip Flap Fun Fold card becomes a versatile option suitable for any occasion—from birthdays to thinking-of-you cards.

Just like the first Flip Flap Fun Fold card, the inside of this handmade card features a layered design that adds elegance and charm. I included a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, stamped with a butterfly image using Gorgeous Grape ink. This stamped layer is adhered to a mat of Gorgeous Grape cardstock, offering a striking contrast. When the card is closed, this beautiful detail is hidden beneath the front flap, creating a subtle element of surprise when the card is opened—perfect for making your handmade greeting extra special.
