Hi, Stamper. Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop and my post about my cards made using the Floating Strip Technique!
This month, we’re diving into the beautiful and brand-new 2025-2027 Stampin’ Up! In Colors! Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or just starting on your stamping journey, these fresh hues are giving us all inspiration. Click through each link at the bottom of this post to “hop” along and see how our community is using these beautiful new shades in their projects. You’ll leave with inspirational ideas, and maybe a few new must-haves on your wishlist!

With the launch of the new Stampin’ Up! 2025–2027 In Colors in the Annual Catalog, paper crafters have five fresh, trendy shades to inspire their cardmaking and scrapbooking projects! This limited-time color collection includes Strawberry Slush, Timid Tiger, Darling Duckling, Cloud Cover, and Secret Sea—available for just two years. These exclusive In Colors are perfect for adding vibrant, on-trend style to your handmade cards.
Please note: Due to a chemical reaction with the foam pads, Cloud Cover ink pads have been removed from the Stampin’ Up! online store. If you’re eager to get your hands on this soft, dreamy blue, I recommend grabbing an Uninked Stampin’ Spot and a Cloud Cover ink refill to create your own custom ink pad.

I’m excited to share some handmade card ideas featuring the 2025–2027 Stampin’ Up! In Colors, using one of my favorite techniques—the Floating Strips Technique! This fun and easy cardmaking method is perfect for showcasing the beautiful new In Color cardstock. I created two bold and colorful cards using this technique, then used the leftover paper strip circles to craft a few bonus cards—great for getting the most out of your supplies!

For this handmade card, I used the popular Floating Strips Technique to highlight Stampin’ Up!’s 2024–2026 In Color cardstock. The card base is Thick Basic White cardstock, cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″. I applied Adhesive Sheets to the back of each In Color cardstock and cut them into 3/8″ strips. These strips were then adhered to a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Window Sheet, which I trimmed down to 4″ x 5-1/4″ for a crisp, clean edge. The window sheet panel was adhered with Foam Adhesive Strips cleverly hidden behind those 3/8″ strips of in color cardstock, giving it the impression it’s floating.
To embellish the card, I stamped the bee from the Bee My Valentine stamp set: the body on Darling Duckling cardstock, the wings on Cloud Cover cardstock, and the antennae on Basic White—using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The bee was then punched out using the Bee Builder Punch and assembled. The sentiment, from the Sharing, Loving, Creating stamp set, was stamped on Basic White cardstock and punched out with the 2″ Circle Punch. I adhered the bee and sentiment to the floating panel to complete this fun and vibrant card.

To complete the inside of this handmade card, I stamped the adorable bee from the Stampin’ Up! Bee My Valentine stamp set in the lower right corner using Darling Duckling, Balmy Blue, and Memento Tuxedo Black inks. For a coordinated look, I added the leftover strip from the floating panel featured on the card front. The slightly uneven edge adds a whimsical, handmade touch that makes the card even more charming.

This floating strip technique card begins just like the first, using a Thick Basic White card base and a 4″ x 5-1/4″ floating panel made with 3/8″ strips of each Stampin’ Up! 2024–2026 In Color. To create a fun twist, I die cut two circles from the floating strip panel before adding the clear window sheet and adhesive foam strips. This gave me a peek-through effect that let my stamped sentiment on the card base show through beautifully! For this version, I used the Stylish Shapes Dies, which made clean, crisp cuts. In the tutorial video below, I used punches as an alternative—they can work, but dies are definitely easier and more precise (especially if your punches aren’t super sharp).

Inside this handmade card, I used the Stampin’ Up! Bee My Valentine stamp set to add a sweet sentiment stamped in Strawberry Slush ink right in the center. To finish it off, I stamped the adorable bee in the lower right corner using Darling Duckling, Balmy Blue, and Memento Tuxedo Black inks.

Creating the handmade cards above, using floating strip technique, was a great way to stretch my supplies and get more from my die cuts! After cutting circles for my floating panel card, I repurposed the leftover floating strip circles for a second card design. For this project, I used a Thick Basic White card base and added the floating circle to the lower half. I layered a 2-3/8″ circle punched from the Secret Sky Designer Series Paper with a 2″ circle of Basic White cardstock. The sentiment was stamped in Strawberry Slush ink using the Bee My Valentine stamp set, then adhered to the top half of the card for a clean, balanced look. To finish the card front, I added simple dotted accents using the 2025–2027 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers. This quick and colorful technique is a fun way to add texture and interest to your handmade cards.

This handmade card features the Floating Strip Technique, perfect for using up scraps and adding dimension to your projects. I created a bold In Color background using wider cardstock strips from the 2025–2027 In Color Collection, then layered Basic White cardstock over the top for contrast. One of the leftover floating strip circles is popped up near the top using Foam Adhesive Strips, creating a spotlight for a die-cut Basic White sailboat, crafted with the Sunrise Sailing Hybrid Embossing Folder. To finish the card, I added a stack of 2025–2027 In Color Flat Pearls in the bottom left corner—one of each beautiful new shade. You’ll find the full supply list and a detailed step-by-step video tutorial below to help you recreate this advanced yet achievable Stampin’ Up! fun fold card at home.
