Welcome, crafty friends! I’m so glad you’re joining me for this month’s Fun Fold Blog Hop where we’re featuring unique cardmaking techniques using Stampin’ Up! products. Today, I’m excited to show you how to make a Corner Explosion Card—a dramatic and surprisingly easy fun fold that adds an unexpected pop to your handmade cards.

I created two versions of this design: one masculine and one feminine. Let’s take a closer look at the feminine version.

For this version of the corner explosion card, I started with a Pretty in Pink card base and added layers of the elegant Lovely Garden Designer Series Paper to set a soft, floral tone. The sentiment comes from the Happy Hibiscus stamp set, stamped in coordinating Pretty in Pink ink for a polished, tone-on-tone look. I finished the card front with a sweet Pretty in Pink bow, adding a touch of charm and dimension.

Inside the card, the Corner Explosion fold reveals a Basic White panel matted with Pretty in Pink cardstock. I stamped delicate hibiscus flowers from the Happy Hibiscus Stamp Set in the top left and bottom right corners to tie everything together. A coordinating piece of Lovely Garden DSP in the explosion corner adds an extra pop of interest and completes the design.

Looking for a great handmade card idea for the men in your life? This masculine Corner Explosion card is bold, dimensional, and easier to make than it looks! I used Stampin’ Up!’s Night of Navy cardstock for the card base and paired it with the aviation-themed Take to the Sky Designer Series Paper—perfect for Father’s Day, birthdays, or just because.

The focal point features the Everyday Arches Bundle. I die-cut a Basic White arch and stamped it with the Everyday Arches stamp set using Night of Navy ink. That was layered onto a slightly larger arch die cut from Night of Navy cardstock. A touch of Linen Thread wrapped around the arches adds texture and keeps with the clean, masculine style.

When you open the corner explosion card, it reveals a Basic White inner panel stamped with airplanes in Night of Navy ink, matted on a coordinating Night of Navy layer. This unique fold adds a wow factor that any recipient will love!
