Stampin' Pretty Pals Blog Hop Badge

Hi, Stamper. Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month’s theme is Animal House—and the Pals are here to inspire you with a parade of paw-some card ideas and paper craft creations, all featuring Stampin’ Up! products. For this hop, I have created a Twisted Easel Card using the Darling Dinos stamp set. At the end of each post, you’ll find links to all the participant blogs so you can “hop” along and gather ideas to make your own projects roar with personality. 🐾

Stampin' Up! Darling Dinos Twisted Easel Card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

My Twisted Easel Card starts with a Granny Apple Green card base and the front was trimmed to 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″. To create the easel effect, I scored the card front diagonally from the upper right corner to the lower left corner. This diagonal score is what allows the card to stand up when opened. On top of the front panel, I added a 4″ x 4″ layer of Shaded Spruce cardstock, making sure to adhere it only to the bottom half so the easel mechanism would function properly. For the focal point, I stamped my image onto a 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock, colored it with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers, and softly blended Balmy Blue ink at the top using Blending Brushes to create a subtle sky background. This layer was then adhered to the card front for a clean, vibrant look.

Inside the Twisted Easel Card, I placed a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock, leaving plenty of room for a personal message or stamped greeting. On the right side, I added a strip of Granny Apple Green Designer Series Paper from the Color Families collection, matted onto Shaded Spruce cardstock. This piece was popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals to serve as the “stopper” that holds the easel open for display. When the card front rests against it, the twisted easel stands beautifully, ready to wow the recipient.

Below is a step-by-step video tutorial showing exactly how to create this Twisted Easel Card so you can make one of your own. I encourage you to experiment with different Stampin’ Up! colors, Designer Series Papers, and stamp sets to create a variety of looks. All of the products I used for this fun fold card are available in my Stampin’ Up! online store, and when you shop with me, you’re supporting my small business. I truly appreciate your support, and I can’t wait to see your version of this fun fold design!
