Hi, stamper. With the crisp autumn air rolling in, I’ve been reaching for rich seasonal colors and patterns, and the Stampin’ Up! Gathering Together DSP and Autumn Toile DSP are perfect for fall cardmaking. Their warm tones and elegant designs inspired me to create a center lift card with a floating focal element that really highlights these beautiful papers.
Each center lift card start with a Cajun Craze card base. I trimmed 1-1/4 inches from each side of the card front and adhered those pieces to the inside of the card. This creates the opening for the center lift mechanism. I added 1-inch x 4-inch strips of Designer Series Paper to each side panel for a coordinated look. Inside the card,
Inside each center lift card, I used a 2-3/4″ x 4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped a few pumpkins from the More Than Autumn stamp set. I colored the stamp with Stampin’ Write Markers before stamping to give the Pumpkin Pie colored pumpkins a Garden Green stem.
On the card front, I added a 2-3/4″ x 4″ embossed piece of Cajun Craze cardstock. The floating element is made by cutting a 3″ x 3″ square of Designer Series Paper into strips and adhering them onto a 4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of acetate. Foam adhesive strips are hidden behind the DSP, making the patterned pieces appear suspended above the card. I finished the card with a sentiment from the More Than Autumn stamp set, stamped in Early Espresso ink and added to a simple banner.
