Hi Stamper! Welcome to Creative Creases Challenge #109. This month’s challenge is all about fun fold cards, and I’m excited to share my Expanding Z Fold Christmas card with you. This card is impressive and eye-catching, but surprisingly easy to make, making it perfect for your holiday card crafting.
My Expanding Z Fold card starts with a Shaded Spruce card base, scored and folded multiple times to create the Z shape. An additional strip is added to extend the design, and a square of Old Olive cardstock is attached to this strip. I decorated all the layers with patterns from the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper. This design stretches out for a stunning display but folds neatly to fit into a standard A2 envelope, making it practical as well as beautiful.
The focal point of the fun fold card is a double ribbon label die-cut from Basic White cardstock using the Traditional Labels Dies. I stamped the sentiment in Shaded Spruce ink, then added a second label cut from Gold Foil. By cutting the gold label in half and layering it behind the white label, just a touch of gold peeks out from the top and bottom, giving the sentiment a festive pop.
On the back of the Expanding Z Fold card, I added a layer of Basic White cardstock with a coordinating strip of Designer Series Paper on the left side. I stamped “Merry Christmas” in Shaded Spruce ink in the center to tie it all together and create a polished look.
