Hi, Stamper. Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals monthly blog hop. This month, we’re speaking the Language of Love, and I’m so glad you’re here. If you’re looking for fresh inspiration and a reason to pull out your favorite craft supplies, you’re in the right place. I’m sharing a Valentine’s Day gift box that’s perfect for Valentine’s Day. The Pals and I are excited to share our handmade cards and paper projects made with Stampin’ Up! products, and I know you’ll find plenty of ideas to spark your creativity.

I recently needed a small, thoughtful Valentine’s Day gift and while browsing Pinterest, I came across a heart-shaped Valentine’s Day gift box that sparked my creativity. The original design used an older Valentine bundle, but I knew I could recreate and update the look using the Stampin’ Up! Endless Love Bundle and the beautiful Made with Love Designer Series Paper.

To begin, I die cut two large hearts from the Endless Love dies using the Made with Love DSP and two matching hearts from Flirty Flamingo cardstock. Adhering the cardstock hearts behind the patterned paper gave the box a sturdy foundation. Next, I die cut the tag-shaped heart from Basic White and Flirty Flamingo cardstock, along with the XO from Basic White using adhesive sheets and the arrow from Real Red cardstock. After stamping “to” and “from” on the white heart and a small heart on the Flirty Flamingo piece, I layered the XO and arrow together for a charming finishing touch.

What makes this heart shaped Valentine’s Day gift box so clever is the center section, which is built from simple nesting triangles made with strips of Real Red cardstock. This technique is much easier than trying to match the curves of a heart and still creates a perfectly functional box. The slightly larger “top” of the box is attached to the Flirty Flamingo side of one heart, while the “bottom” is adhered to the DSP side of the other, so the pretty patterned paper shows when the box is assembled.
To complete the project, I threaded Bubble Bath ribbon through the tag, secured it with white baker’s twine, and added a small bow. A few Basic Rhinestones provided just the right amount of sparkle.
If you’d like to make your own handmade Valentine’s Day gift box, I invite you to watch my step-by-step video tutorial below. You’ll also find a full supply list with photos and direct links to my Stampin’ Up! online store so you can easily recreate this project and support my small business.
