Hi Stamper. Today I’m sharing a Book Shaped Fun Fold Card that looks like a beautiful little book when it’s closed. This creative fun fold cardmaking idea is perfect for anyone who loves unique handmade cards with a professional look. I’m also excited to be sharing this project as part of the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Fun Fold Blog Hop, where a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators come together to inspire the cardmaking community with creative fun fold card designs.

To create my Book Shaped Card, I started with Basic Black cardstock as the base and adhered a smaller card base to the upper right corner to form the front cover of the “book.” To give the illusion of pages, I used my Simply Scored Scoring Tool and stylus to add score lines to a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock. After scoring, I rounded the corners on one side and adhered the strip to the bottom edge of the card so it resembles the pages of a book. I also used a circle punch on the right side to enhance that realistic page detail.

For the book spine, I stamped the “In the Garden” sentiment from the Made With Sweetness Stamp Set and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder to create an elegant title. To highlight the spine, I cut thin 1/8″ strips of Gold Foil backed with Adhesive Sheets and placed them above and below the title for a polished, decorative accent.

On the front cover of the Book Shaped Card, I punched a 1″ circle from Gold Foil cardstock, cut it into four pieces, and placed one in each corner to create decorative metallic corners. For the focal point, I used the flower die from the Wonderful Thoughts Dies, cutting it from Gold Foil with Adhesive Sheets to make attaching the detailed die cut quick and easy.

Inside the card, I added two layers of Very Vanilla cardstock—one on each side—to provide space for writing a message. On the right side, I stamped a sentiment from the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set in black ink to complete the design.
