Hi Stampers. Today I have another dinner jacket card for you today.  Yesterday’s dinner jacket was ivory – today’s is done in red (Cherry Cobbler). Today’s red dinner jacket also has a little different “cut” to it.

Much like yesterday’s card, the card base is Thick Basic White CS and the “shirt” is constructed first before adding the “jacket”.  The red dinner jacket is made from a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Cherry Cobbler CS with the V die cut out of it using the Suit & Tie Dies. Next, I die cut the lapel, buttons, tie and pockets out of Basic Black CS.

For a slightly different “cut” to the red dinner jacket, I used paper snips to cut down to the bottom of the card from the point of the V and cut the lapel in half in the middle. Next, I attached the lapel and pocket to each side of the jacket.  The two halves were then adhered to the card, giving the even border on the sides and overlapping the jacket in the middle. Buttons were added to the top, where it overlapped, so it really looks buttoned shut.

Inside the card is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Cherry Cobbler followed by a 3-3/4″ x 5″ layer of Basic White.  The sentiment, from  the Handsomely Suited stamp set, is stamped in Tuxedo Black ink.  In keeping with the color scheme, I stamped bow ties, also from the Handsomely Suited stamp set, in upper left and lower right using Cherry Cobbler and Tuxedo Black ink.
