Hi Stampers. For last months Pals Blog Hop, I featured a landscaped book binding card made with the Birds & Branches stamp set. I had paired it with the Hand Penned Designer Series Paper to make a cheery spring card. CLICK HERE to see that post.
Today, I am pairing the same Birds & Branches stamp set with the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series paper to make a peaceful autumn card. This card is also a book binding card, but this one is portrait orientation, rather than the previous landscape.
The Mossy Meadow card base is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ and 5-1/4″ and folded in half at the 4-1/4″ score line (the additional score line is on the front of the card. On that 1″ section on the left side, I added a 3/4″ x 5-1/4″ strip of the Beauty of the Earth DSP. For the right side of the card front, I cut a 3″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Very Vanilla CS. Using the Birds & More Dies, I die cut the circle (with foliage) out of the top part of this layer and backed it with a 3″ x 3″ layer of the Beauty of the Earth DSP. This is then attached to the card front.
The next step on my book binding card was to wrap linen thread around the 1″ section on the left and then use glue to adhere this section to the inside of the card. This creates my book binding. Some additional foliage was die cut from Garden Green CS, using the same Birds & More Dies. The bird is stamped in Pale Papaya and Soft Suede inks and then die cut out. These two pieces are adhered to the bottom part of the circle opening (as shown in photo – the foliage adhered with liquid glue and the bird with a Stampin’ Dimensional).
Finally, I stamped the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink onto a scrap of Very Vanilla CS and punched it out using the Double Oval Punch. Also using the Double Oval Punch, I punched a scalloped circle of Mossy Meadow CS. These two are adhered together with liquid glue and then to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Inside my book binding card is a 3″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Very Vanilla CS with a 1/4″ strip of the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper.
