Welcome. I have a few more Graduation cards for you, this time I made a Graduation Gown Card. There are two because I couldn’t decide between two outside sentiments from the Charming Sentiments Bundle. This card is also featured in my video below – it’s the second card.
My Graduation Gown Card starts with a standard card base – 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. The front of the gown was created by cutting a piece of Silver Foil 3-3/4″ wide and 4″ tall and a piece of Basic White CS 3-1/4″ wide and 3-1/2″ tall. Both were cut from the center of the bottom to the upper corners making a triangle.
For the neck opening, I used my paper snips to cut a V in the Basic White CS and put a scrap of Petal Pink CS behind it and then adhered the Basic White to the Silver Foil. The three pieces (now adhered together) were then adhered to my card. Basic Pearl Jewels were added to the Basic White, to look like buttons. You may choose to make a necklace out of tiny pearls, too. Have fun with it!
For the graduation cap, I cut a piece of Pacific Point CS 1-3/4″ x 1-3/4″ and used a sponge dauber to apply Pacific Point ink to the edges. The tassel and pearl were added to the cap and then it’s added to the card front using stampin’ dimensionals. The diploma is just a small piece of printer paper rolled up and tied with a piece of small red ribbon. Finally, there is the sentiment (from the Charming Sentiments set) stamped in Pacific Point ink onto a scrap of Basic White CS and die cute using the coordinating Sentiment Silhouettes Dies.
Inside my Graduation Gown card is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Basic White CS. I used the balloon and string from the Penguin Place stamp set and stamped in Pacific Point ink. Another wonderful sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stamp set was stamped in the center in Pacific Point ink.
Again, I made a variety of colors to match the schools in our area. Which graduation gown card do you like better? This one or the one from yesterday – HERE?
